What is the Purpose of the Circular Arc Tooth Design in the YCB Series Gear Pumps?

In general, traditional involute gear pumps face persistent challenges in improving efficiency during long-term industrial applications due to their tooth profile design. However, compared to conventional involute gear pumps, the YCB series gear pump employs a double-arc sine curve tooth profile, which serves as the core solution for enhancing conveying efficiency.
The tooth profile of involute gear pumps causes simultaneous contact between two teeth during meshing, forming a sealed oil cavity. When oil is pressurized or expands, it generates severe shock effects, leading to internal leakage within the pump body or even equipment failure. To address this issue, the YCB series horizontal gear pump employs a design composed of two arcs transitioning via a sine curve. Its meshing trajectory ensures continuous contact, theoretically achieving zero dead volume. Field testing demonstrates that under operating conditions of 1.0 MPa and 1500 r/min, volumetric efficiency improves from 82% to 93%.
The dual-arc design of this equipment ensures that relative tooth surface motion is primarily pure rolling, with relative sliding speeds reduced to less than 5% of the pitch circle speed. in addition, friction losses are reduced by 70%, while mechanical efficiency is increased by 10%. Simultaneously, the YCB arc gear pump employs a sinusoidal transition at the tooth tips, minimizing instantaneous flow pulsation. This significantly reduces the probability of secondary leakage and valve wear caused by pressure pulsation.
This pump features a double-arc design, resulting in tooth surface wear that is only one-fifth that of an involute profile. Moreover, its efficiency degradation during long-term operation is capped at a maximum of 3%, whereas traditional gear pumps experience a significant 10% reduction. Therefore, this series of pumps is applied in industries such as petroleum, chemical, coatings, oils and fats, shipping, pharmaceuticals, machinery manufacturing, and construction.
The tooth profile design of the YCB series double-arc gear pumps eliminates oil trapping and minimizes pulsation, boosting its conveying efficiency by over 10%. This ensures consistently high and stable performance throughout extended service life. As a result, this pump series has emerged as a low-energy, low-noise, long-lasting solution.
