NYP series gear pumps achieve efficient asphalt medium transport primarily due to their structural advantages designed for high-viscosity, easily solidifying media and their exceptional system compatibility. Below, we detail how these pump advantages specifically benefit asphalt conveying.
Its pump body, end covers, and brackets of the NYP gear oil pump feature an integrated cast thermal insulation jacket design. Uniform heating of the pump chamber via thermal oil, steam, or electric heating ensures a stable and optimal temperature throughout asphalt conveyance. This prevents medium solidification or sudden viscosity spikes that could interrupt flow, making the pump particularly suitable for outdoor or sub-zero operations.
To ensure smooth, pulsation-free flow when transferring high-viscosity asphalt, the NYP horizontal gear pump employs an internal gear meshing design with crescent-shaped partitions. This configuration enables co-rotating gears to form continuous sealing chambers. Simultaneously, the design minimizes shear forces, preventing structural damage to asphalt modifiers.
Typically, asphalt exhibits significant viscosity variations across different temperatures. To accommodate these changes, the pump incorporates an adjustable clearance design. This design ensures optimal clearance maintenance under varying temperatures and viscosities, preventing internal leakage and efficiency loss due to excessive clearance, or pump seizure caused by insufficient clearance. By adjusting the gear clearance within the bearing housing, this pump enables fine-tuning without disassembly. This ensures high volumetric efficiency is maintained under both high-temperature, low-viscosity and low-temperature, high-viscosity conditions.
Asphalt infiltrating shaft seals or bearings rapidly solidifies upon cooling, potentially causing shaft seizure or seal failure. The NYP series gear oil pump employs multiple seals and heating protection to prevent leakage and blockages during asphalt conveyance. Heating elements are also integrated into the seal chambers and bearing areas, maintaining stable temperatures in these critical zones to extend seal life and reduce maintenance frequency.
Thanks to its rational structure and superior performance, the NYP series gear pump has become an efficient solution for asphalt conveying, particularly suited for complex conditions involving modified asphalt, high-temperature asphalt, and easily crystallizing asphalt.
