With the development and growth of industries and enterprises, centrifugal pumps are gradually being recognised more and more as important equipment for industrial fluid transfer. Therefore, the stable operation of centrifugal pumps plays a crucial left and right in the whole production process. However, if there is improper operation or untimely maintenance, centrifugal pumps will have a variety of problems in the process of use. To ensure that centrifugal pumps can run efficiently and stably, we will list six centrifugal pumps that need to pay attention to the following matters.
I. Preparatory Work Before Starting
Before starting the self-priming centrifugal pump, it is necessary to make sufficient preparations. Firstly, it is necessary to check whether the pump parts are intact and whether the fastening bolts are tight. Secondly, check whether the insulation resistance of the motor and the wiring of the power line are good to ensure that the motor can start normally. In addition, check whether the inlet and outlet valves are in the correct position to avoid excessive shock load when the pump starts. Finally, it should be checked whether the lubricant in the bearing box of the pump is sufficient to ensure that the pump can be well lubricated during operation.
2. Correct Starting Sequence
The starting sequence of the high pressure centrifugal pump is crucial for the normal operation and maintenance of the machine. First of all, the inlet valve of the pump should be opened, so that the pump cavity is full of medium and the air in the pump cavity is excluded. Then, start the motor, observe the operation of the pump to ensure that the pump can start smoothly. After the pump reaches the normal speed, gradually open the outlet valve to adjust the flow and pressure of the pump. During the starting process, the current of the motor and the vibration of the pump should be observed, and if there is any abnormality, the pump should be stopped immediately for inspection.
3. Monitoring and Adjustment in Operation
During the operation of the industrial centrifugal pump, it is necessary to monitor the running status of the machine in real time and make adjustments according to the actual situation. Firstly, the current, voltage and temperature of the motor should be checked regularly to ensure that the motor is running under the rated load. Secondly, the import and export pressure, flow rate and vibration of the pump should be observed, and any abnormality should be dealt with in time. In addition, the speed and flow rate of the pump should be adjusted regularly according to the nature of the medium and the requirements of use to ensure the efficient operation of the pump.
4. To Prevent Cavitation and Pumping
Cavitation and pumping is a common problem in the operation of electric centrifugal pumps. Cavitation is due to the pump pressure is too low, resulting in the medium in the pump vaporized to produce bubbles, thus affecting the performance and life of the pump. In order to prevent cavitation, should ensure that the pump inlet pressure is sufficient to avoid the pump running at too low a pressure. Pumping is due to insufficient medium in the pump, resulting in negative pressure in the pump, resulting in pump damage. To avoid the situation of pumping out, you should regularly check whether the inlet and outlet valves and pipelines of the pump are smooth.
5. Maintenance After Shutdown
After the multistage centrifugal pump is shut down, the necessary maintenance work should be carried out. Firstly, the import and export valves and power supply should be closed to ensure that the pump stops running completely. Then, the pump cavity should be cleaned of media and impurities, to avoid media residue on the pump caused by corrosion or blockage. In addition, should also check whether the pump parts are intact, if damaged, should be replaced in a timely manner. Finally, the pump should be lubricated and rust-proofed to ensure that the pump is well protected during shutdown.
6. Safe Operation and Protection
In the use of chemical centrifugal pumps, it is necessary to comply with the safety regulations and take the necessary protective measures. First, the operator should be familiar with the structure, performance and use of centrifugal pumps. Secondly, protective equipment should be worn during operation, such as safety helmets, gloves and protective glasses. In addition, in the process of repair and maintenance, operating procedures should be strictly observed to avoid accidents. Necessary safety warning signs and protective measures should also be installed to ensure the safety of equipment and personnel.
In short, the precautions during the use of centrifugal booster pumps include the preparation before starting, the correct starting sequence, the monitoring and adjustment during operation, the prevention of cavitation and pumping, the maintenance after shutdown, as well as the safe operation and protection. In the use of centrifugal pumps must strictly comply with these precautions, in order to ensure the efficient and stable operation of centrifugal pumps, but also to extend the service life of the machine, but also for the production and development of enterprises to build a strong backing.
