In critical industrial sectors such as petrochemicals and environmental treatment, transporting high-viscosity fluids under harsh conditions involving drastic temperature fluctuations, complex media compositions, or corrosive components presents a significant challenge, and the traditional external gear pumps may face issues such as seal failure and gear wear, leading to downtime. However, the NYP series high-viscosity gear pumps, with their precision manufacturing processes and high-performance capabilities, demonstrate reliable applicability and stability in industrial applications.
This pump utilizes the principle of internal and external rotor meshing, with a crescent-shaped plate separating the two to form a sealed volumetric chamber, enabling them to rotate in the same direction. This design fundamentally eliminates the high relative sliding speed between the tooth surfaces found in external gear pumps, effectively reducing wear and extending the equipment's service life. Notably, the axial clearance of the rotor can be adjusted within a certain range, allowing for the restoration of volumetric efficiency and maintaining high conveying efficiency even after prolonged use with highly abrasive media such as asphalt and resins.
NYP series gear pumps offer material options based on the characteristics of different media. When conveying acidic or alkaline corrosive media, stainless steel precision-cast pump bodies and hard alloy bearings can be selected. In the process of conveying coal tar containing solid particles, a combination of quenched alloy steel gears and special plastic bearings can be used to achieve efficient and stable conveying. Furthermore, for high-viscosity media, the equipment can be equipped with a heating or cooling jacket structure to heat or cool the medium using steam or heat transfer oil, thereby reducing viscosity and facilitating smooth transportation.
To ensure leak-free operation during transportation, this equipment abandons the traditional notion that mechanical seals are inherently superior to packing seals, instead selecting the appropriate sealing method based on different operating conditions. For media containing impurities or prone to crystallization, such as asphalt and polymer melts, a combination of flexible graphite and PTFE packing can be used to prevent sudden failure caused by dry friction at the mechanical seal faces. For highly toxic and flammable media such as isocyanates, zero leakage is achieved through an isolation sleeve to meet the explosion-proof requirements of petrochemical plants. All sealing configurations can be equipped with steam or thermal oil jackets to maintain the seal chamber temperature above the solidification point of the medium, thus preventing seal damage caused by condensation and solidification.
In summary, the NYP horizontal gear pump, through its internal gear design and ability to handle various operating conditions, plays a reliable role in conveying high-temperature, high-viscosity, and high-pressure media, thereby helping to improve production efficiency and progress.
