The kinetic energy gained by the fluid in the impeller is then converted into pressure energy as it moves into the casing. The volute-shaped casing gradually expands, allowing the fluid to decelerate and increase in pressure.

Discharge of Fluid:

At the outer edge of the impeller, the fluid is pushed into the volute casing. The volute directs the flow, gradually reducing the velocity and increasing the pressure. Finally, the fluid is discharged from the pump through the outlet.

Manufacturers provide pump curves that depict the relationship between flow rate, head, and power consumption, allowing users to select the most suitable pump for their application.
