According to the structure characteristics to divide the centrifugal pump:

First, according to the number of working impeller to classify
1. single-stage pump: that is, there is only one impeller on the pump shaft.

2. multistage pump: that is, there are two or more than two impellers on the pump shaft, then the total head of the pump is the sum of the head generated by multiple impellers.

Two, according to the work pressure to classify
1. low pressure pump valve: pressure is less than 100 meters water column.

2. medium pressure pump: the pressure is between 100-650 meters water column.

3. high pressure pump: the pressure is higher than 650 meters water column.

Three, according to the impeller inlet way to classify
1. unilateral water pump: also called single suction pump, that is, there is only one inlet on the impeller.

2. bilateral water pump: also called double suction pump, that is, both sides of the impeller have a water inlet. Its flow is twice as large as the single suction pump, can be approximately regarded as two single suction pump impeller back-to-back placed together.

Four, according to the pump shell joint form to classify
1. horizontal open pump: that is, through the axis line on the horizontal surface with a joint.

2. vertical combined surface pump: that is, the combined surface is perpendicular to the axis line.

Five, according to the position of the pump shaft classification
1. horizontal pump: The pump shaft is located in a horizontal position.

2. vertical pump: the pump shaft is located in a vertical position.
